一个粗略估计的网页浏览器使用分布

目录

精确度

利用每次浏览器发出的请求所得到的 user agent 来作为统计浏览器的使用率，可能会产生资料上的迷失。

高估

并非所有的浏览请求都是由使用者所发出。因此便造成了使用率高估的现象。例如：

  • 浏览器定时自动刷新页面。
  • 大部分的浏览器再回到上一页按钮会产生额外的页面请求，只有少部份的浏览器会重复使用快取的内容。
  • feed reader 定时去抓取 RSS 或 Atom feed。
  • 因为对 Internet Explorer 做 CSS 或 Javascript hack，而提供额外的档案，提高了 Internet Explorer 的数字。
  • 基于 Gecko 的浏览器，有预先抓取网页的功能，而造成点击数量上升。

低估

同样的，也可能由于某些机制造成低估的现象。例如：

  • 图形接口的浏览器通常会比纯文字接口的浏览器发出更多的请求。(如取得图档、CSS、Javascript 等)
  • 内存较多的电脑或许会有较多的快取页面，因而减少发出请求的数量。
  • 许多浏览器和下载软件会伪装 user agent 来回避某些侦测特定浏览器才能读取的网站。(如 Opera 9 默认伪装成 Internet Explorer)
  • 阻挡第三方间谍软件的浏览器增加。
  • 基于文字或基于音乐的浏览器不会下载任何看不见的图像。
  • 增强隐私功能的 Proxy。
  • 基于Gecko的浏览器使用fast DOM caching的机制 Javascript 只会在页面加载的时候被执行，因而减少了以 Javascript 为基础的浏览器统计。

对以独立 IP 或 使用 Cookie 来作为不重复造访率所产生计算上得误差。
