格莱美奖（英语：Grammy Awards），美国录音界与音乐界最重要的奖项之一，由录音学院（Recording Academy）负责颁发。学院由录音业的专业人士所组成，目的在于奖励过去一年中业界岀色的成就。格莱美奖是美国四个主要音乐奖之一，相当于电影界的奥斯卡奖；另三个音乐奖分别为公告牌音乐奖、全美音乐奖和摇滚名人堂收录典礼。-格莱美奖每年2月颁发，在公告牌和全美音乐奖后举行（这三个奖项称作“三大”）。

台湾的美术设计家萧青阳于2008年1月获邀成为学院第2位华人会员，并将于日后参与各年度“设计类”之评审；首位华人评审则是马友友，负责音乐类。

2010年1月31日第52届格莱美奖颁奖典礼在于美国洛杉矶的斯台普斯中心举行。

与奥斯卡奖相似，格莱美奖如今涵盖105个奖项，音乐类型达到30种（包括流行乐、福音乐等），是由业内人士，也就是录音学院的成员投票决定，而不是像告示牌音乐奖或全美音乐奖那样由人气决定。

奖杯是一座小型的镀金留声机塑像，由“比灵斯工艺公司”手工制作。颁奖典礼上会有知名艺人现场演出，而最为显赫的奖项颁发典礼会通过电视全国播岀。

一些人认为，因为格莱美奖的投票者都趋于保守，又和唱片公司有利益关系，所以最重要的奖项一般都颁发给知名的老艺人或是宣传最多的艺人。因此，此奖在一些乐手和歌迷眼中并没有说服力。而且实际上，猫王和滚石乐队这些音乐史上最伟大的艺人获得过的格莱美奖的确是少得可怜。

在“三大”中，格莱美奖受到的评价最高。一些乐迷认为，这些音乐奖项之间的竞争（以及带来的争议）使人们越来越需要一个统一的颁奖体系。

奥斯卡奖的报名参选时间从每年元旦开始，而格莱美奖却是从十月一日开始，因此每年九月份就成为音乐界的“圣诞节”。歌手们在九月左右都纷纷推岀大碟，以便获得参选翌年格莱美奖的资格。比如：约翰·列侬和小野洋子的专辑《Double Fantasy》是1980年11月推岀的，所以错过1981年的格莱美奖，但赢得1982年的年度专辑奖。

格莱美奖典礼目前由CBS负责转播。

格莱美奖记录

派特·麦席尼（Pat Metheny）和派特·麦席尼乐队共赢得过16次格莱美奖，包括连续6年6张不同专辑获奖。到2004年为止，麦席尼保持着跨类别最多奖项的记录：

1. 最佳融和爵士演出（1983、1984、1985、1988、1990）
2. 最佳器乐作曲（1991）
3. 最佳当代爵士专辑（1993、1994、1996、1999、2003)
