個體
個體，或稱個人，一般指一個人或是一個群體中的特定主體。
在生物學中，每一隻動物、一顆植物、甚至一個能以單細胞生存的生命形式都可稱為單一個體。
統計學、形上學中，個體又被視為 "單獨存在的",
典型的定義為任何數量上呈單數的物體，但有時意為 "一個人". (q.v. "The problem of proper names")。從17世紀開始，individual indicates separateness, as in 個人主義. (Abbs 1986, cited in Klein 2005, p.26-27)
