Sanskrit

A Sanskrit script

Sanskrit is an ancient Indo-Aryan language, and one of the oldest languages of the Indo-European language family. The main script used to write Sanskrit is Devanāgarī.

Now Sanskrit is mainly a religious language but Hindustani and Hindu Pakistanis used to speak it thousands of years ago. Most of the holy books of the Hindu religion are written in Sanskrit, as well as most books of the Buddhist religion (Mahayana school).

There are two main types of Sanskrit: Vedic and Classical.

Vedic Sanskrit is the oldest Sanskrit, and may have been spoken in Northern India, Pakistan, Kashmir, and Afghanistan by 1500 BC. The main books that are written in Vedic Sanskrit are the Vedas.

Classical Sanskrit is newer and more books are written in this style. Sanskrit was found in the Indus Valley Civilization by the Persians about 5000 B.C. This language is the oldest language in the world and is written in the script "Devanagiri",or the language of the gods.

Sanskrit can be called the "mother of all languages" as it is the fundamental architecture and first vehicle not only of meaning, but even can be seen as the partner in creation. When we speak the sound or first letter of creation "A...h" the alphabet has begun and reality gets underway. It was the job of Sanskrit to ennable the human voice and mind to be yoked to the divine nature of Bhr"ah"..ma or "Ah"...br..ah..ma" (Or as the Hebrews mention today Father Abram or Abraham) and thus partake by speech in the creation of the universal awareness which our solar system is a part of. It's a very devine language and by learning and speaking it, it is considered that one gains progress and prosperity especially on the road to enlightenment. Vedic Sanskrit is ancient but modern as well - study of Sanskrit bestows many blessings on the individual and his or her family and friends even today--it expands the mind especially when read aloud in what we call Vedic Chanting today. It was widely spread around the ancient world - even one of the first kings of Egypt was named "A...hha," so we know the ancient cities using language to communicate were connected and developed along the same lines especially at the locations about 30 to 40 degress north of the equator. Vedic Sanskrit and learning of it or hearing it supports nature and one's awareness of the meter of creation. We can both learn intellectually and experience with the Vedas how awareness grew into the world we live in today!!! It is still a living language spoken by Vedic pundits worldwide.
