A type designer is a person who designs typefaces. Some type designers are employed by type foundries, or operate them. Others work independently. A partial list of type designers follows by country, with a signature typeface or two for significant designers. Schools of type design sometimes developed in specific western nations, but type design generally has not been defined by nationality.

Denmark

Fontpartners is a type foundry based in Copenhagen and Elsinore, DK, that creates and market original Latin-typefaces and corporate fonts. The foundry is a design-collaboration between the two danes, Morten Rostgaard Olsen (born 1964) and Ole Søndergaard (born 1937).

Fontpartners are also publising their fonts at FontShop. Specially the typefaces FF Max, FF Olsen and FF Signa are today very popular wordwide. New typeface-families are FP Dancer Sans & Serif, and FP Head Pro. (Dancer Sans, in 2007 selected as one of the best typefaces by Typographica.org, FP Head Pro, in 2008).

FontShop is the world's largest collection of original fonts. What makes this library unique, is its spectrum of styles: Ranges from tasteful, high-quality fonts to display-type, reflecting the current global mood, and the most-recent typographic trends.
