Solid-state impact-ionization multiplier

Solid-State Impact-Ionization Multipliers, or SIM, is an amplifier which amplifies from a small input current signal to a large current signal. The application includes Optical Receiver/Detector, Photomultiplier, and Image Sensing.

The advantage of the SIM is that it is a much smaller device and can be integrated with external source. Currently the SIM is in the development stage.
