Olympus, at 1,952 metres (6,400 ft), is the highest point of the Troodos Mountains in Cyprus.[1] A series of long range radars are situated on it. During the winter it turns into a small scale ski area with four lifts. On one of its promontories was a temple to Aphrodite of the Heights (Greek: ἀκραία), into which women were not permitted to enter.[2]
