Chad Castagana


Chad Castagana (born 1968) was arrested in November 2006 for sending fake anthrax letters with soap powder to liberal celebrities and public officials.[1]

Recipients included Jon Stewart of Comedy Central's "The Daily Show", talk show host David Letterman, Keith Olbermann of MSNBC, Rep. Nancy Pelosi of California, and Sen. Charles Schumer of New York, both Democrats.

An FBI affidavit described Chad Castagana as a 39 year old man who lives with his parents in Woodland Hills in Southern California. [1]

He was released on a $350,000 bond a few days after his arrest.[2]

He was later convicted on 14 felony counts.[2] Chad Castagana was sentenced to five years probation and remandment to the Gateways Community Corrections Center in Los Angeles, CA where he is to receive psychiatric treatment and medication. [3] [4]
