The 1986 Australian 2.0 Litre Touring Car Championship was open to Group A Touring Cars of under 2.0 litre capacity. The title was contested over a five round series.

- Round 1 : Sandown Raceway, Victoria, 13 April
- Round 2 : Adelaide International Raceway, South Australia, 27 April
- Round 3 : Calder Park Raceway, Victoria, 1 June
- Round 4 : Oran Park Raceway, New South Wales, 13 July
- Round 5 : Lakeside International Raceway, Queensland, 27 July
This was the first of two such championships to be awarded by the Confederation of Australian Motor Sport.
