Comitán de Domínguez ist ein Ort und ein Municipio im mexikanischen Bundesstaat Chiapas und befindet sich im Süden des Staates. Das Municipio liegt in der Sierra Madre de Chiapas. Der Name dieses Ortes kommt aus dem Nahuatl und bedeutet „Platz der Keramiker“.

Dieses Municipio hat 122.000 Einwohner. Es ist 1043,3 km² groß und liegt 1600 m ü.NN. Comitán de Domínguez grenzt an die Gemeinden Amatenango del Valle, Chanal, Las Margaritas, La Independencia, La Trinitaria, Tzimol, Socoltenango und Las Rosas.[1]
